Favourite Music

Sting.

Sting.

Say it with me...... STiiiiiiiiiiNG.

((shiver))

Just the name is the very definition of COOL! What can I possibly say about Sting that would even come close to describing his incredible musical genius? Pretty much nothing, so all I'll say is, bass player, singer, songwriter, brilliance epitomized. I couldn't even begin to pick a favourite Sting song, but have I mentioned that I LOVE Sting? (and The Police too... let's not forget them).

I was lucky enough to attend the Sting-Annie Lennox concert in Vancouver in Oct. '04.... All I'm gonna say is WOW WOW WOWIE WOW WOW... The man is a god!... And Annie Lennox ROCKED!! (the pic to the left is from that concert at GM Place)

John Mayer

I have to say that I didn't really like him when his first album "Room For Squares" came out, but since then he has grown on me in a big way, particularly since the second album, "Heavier Things". In some way I haven't figured out yet, he reminds me of Sting in as far as the song writing goes, though perhaps a little bluesier. Primo stuff.

David Bowie

The Thin White Duke is STILL great after... what... a hundred years? It seems he has been around forever, but when I saw him in Vancouver 2004, he was FABOO! You'd never guess he's older than my folks. My Dad would be in traction for months doing the stuff Bowie still pulls off. My faves are still "Fame", "Ashes to Ashes" and "I'm Afraid of Americans".

Measha Brueggergosman

A good little Canadian girl, Measha has pipes to spare, and whether she knows it or not, is an honourary member of the "House of Mirth" and a DKCHIVA. She ROCKS.... well ok not rocks, since she sings opera, but she's awesome!

SecretGarden

Consisting of Fionnula Sherry from Ireland and Rolf Lovland from Norway, Secret Garden is Celtic & Scandinavian music, mashed into one lovely, haunting and relaxing blend. I love this stuff for reading, taking a hot bath, or just plain lounging about....
